Q. Does it cost me more to maintain my property through Smartlandlord®?
A. Absolutely not, our property maintenance is totally on a 'Pay as you go' basis and all you need to do is to let us know that you want us to maintain your property. We will send the required documents for you to sign.
Q. What is the procedure for booking jobs?
A. Simple: just call our UK-based state-of-the-art call centre to arrange a technician. Smartlandlord®'s maintenance work is carried out by local teams familiar with their communities, supported by the national resources including induction, training and branding.
Q. How is payment taken?
A. A deposit will be required on taking up the service. Once you have filled out the online form one of our advisers will contact you and the deposit will be taken over the phone. Payment for any jobs will be taken prior to completion of the job.
Q. Is this a 24/7 service?
A. This service is available only within Smartlandlord® working hours*, please choose one of our Emergency Assistance products for out of hours help.

Dos and Don'ts
Do:
- Set up a regular maintenance schedule for all aspects of your property, such as damp, heating and plumbing etc
- Address the problem as soon as it occurs
- Make sure that someone is at the property when our maintenance engineer arrives
- Understand the role of the management of the building if in a flat
Don't:
- Employ non-registered or unqualified maintenance engineers
- Carry out maintenance activities without informing your tenant
- Leave yourself open to liability claims from contractors who may be involved in accidents when in your property
